Sachiko tucked her knees under her chin, her blue eyes staring out at the distant sky. There was just something about this moonless night that bothered her - it was almost like the night where her mother and father had been killed by the Fire Nation, a night that still haunted her. And now, the Fire Nation was back, but for what purpose, she didn't know, didn't want to know. She sighed again, trying to push the image of pain filled golden eyes away from her thoughts. It wouldn't do to think about him. Besides, he was Fire Nation if that's what those gold eyes meant. And... she couldn't give her heart to the man who broke her spirit when they murdered her parents.
She sighed quietly and glanced up and over her shoulder. "Oh, it's you, Sokka," she said quietly, offering him a ghost of a smile. "You okay? You seem distant after seeing those people fom the Fire Nation here. Want to talk?"

"C'mon, Sokka, I may not be Gran-Gran, but I am a good listener," she said, glancing up at him with blue eyes. She tucked a stray strand of brown hair behind her ear as she studied the young man. He definitely seemed troubled. "Katara's in love and you're worried it'll end in disaster, am I right?"

"I am not worried it will I know it will>" Sokka sighed, "Already she's changing.. acting more like some love sick 6 year old rather then her usual fiery and snappy self. Even Gran-Gran is thinking she may have to change her heir to Leadership from Katara to one of the other women. Gran-Gran is losing her faith that Katara will be the good strong leader the tribe needs to survive."
"And worst of all I see these changes killing some part of her. Some part that I know is vital to her existance, yet I don't now what it is or how to protect it." Sokka tossed a chunk of ice angerily into the water

Sachiko nodded, having noticed the change herself. "She seems.. to have fallen for that exiled prince. Why, I can't imagine. There's nothing redeeming that I can see about that boy," she sighed. She placed a thin hand on Sokka's. "I'm sure she'll snap out of it when she remembers what they did to our people."

Sachiko nodded. "I'm sure we'll find a way to convince Katara to stop her madness," she said quietly, smiling softly. "She did listen to us.. eventually."

"It's the eventually part that worries me."
